Who can attend?
This event is open to everyone. Non-Finalists are welcome to ride the trails and join in on the festivities as we crown our 2024 Champions! Bring your friends and family to cheer on the riders.
Who are the Finalists?
The top 8 in the Men’s Division and the top 4 in the Clydesdale Division (>215 lbs) from the 2024 Floatucky Trail Derby Ride Hermes season will be invited to race as Finalists.
Trail System
Nestled deep within the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, Sugarcamp Mountain Trails includes 6 miles of machine-built trail plus an additional 20 miles of hand-carved, technical singletrack. Explore and challenge yourself while enjoying breathtaking views of Dewey Lake and the surrounding area.

Race Course
Finalists will compete on a mix of challenging singletrack and wide multi-use trails in qualification time trials then heats of 2 or 3 riders.
Qualification Time Trials
Each Finalist will have 2 timed runs on the Qualification Course.
Only the top 4 Men’s Division Qualifiers advance to the Head-to-Head races.
All Clydesdale Division Qualifiers advance to the Head-to-Head races.
Clydesdale Division Head-to-Head Races
Clydesdale Championship Race:
Top Clydesdale Qualifier vs. 2nd Place Clydesdale Qualifier from the Qualification Course. Determines the 2024 Floatucky Trail Derby Clydesdale Champion & Runner-Up.
Clydesdale 3rd Place Race:
The remaining Clydesdale finalists will race to determine 3rd Place.
Men’s Division Head-to-Head Races
The top 4 Qualifiers from the Mens’ Division will vote on either Option A or Option B for their Head-to-Head race format. Nico Aleman, the 2023 Floatucky Trail Derby Men’s Champion who is not competing this season, has already cast his vote, which will be used to break any ties.
Option A ( 4 Races )
Race 1: Top Men’s Qualifier vs. 4th Place Men’s Qualifier.
Winner advances on to championship race.
Race 2: 2nd Place Men’s Qualifier vs. 3rd Place Men’s Qualifier.
Winner advances on to championship race.
3rd Place Race: Loser of Race 1 vs Loser of Race 2.
Determines 3rd Place.
Championship Race: Winner of Race 1 vs Winner of Race 2.
Determines the 2024 Floatucky Trail Derby Men’s Champion and Runner Up.
Option B ( 5 Races )
Race 1: Top Men’s Qualifier vs. 4th Place Men’s Qualifier.
Winner advances to Championship Race.
Race 2: 2nd Place Men’s Qualifier vs. 3rd Place Men’s Qualifier.
Winner advances to Championship Race.
Race 3: Loser of Race 1 vs. Loser of Race 2.
Winner advances to Best of the Rest Race.
Championship Race: Winner of Race 1 vs. Winner of Race 2.
Determines the 2024 Floatucky Trail Derby Men’s Champion.
Best of the Rest Race: Winner of Race 3 vs. Loser of Championship Race.
Determines Men’s Runner-Up and 3rd Place.
Bonus Head-to-Head Races (if time allows)
Beauty vs. The Beast:
Women’s Champion vs. Clydesdale Champion
The Throne vs. The Legend:
Chair Race Winner vs. Legend Champion
Prizes
All Champions and podium finishers will have first choice of prizes from the pool of items provided by our Sponsors. The remaining Finalists and event attendees will then have the opportunity to select one prize from the remaining items in the pool.
